Heritage Renewal

Reference this blog entry by Bill Caraher, downriver at UND. Personally, I have only a shaky idea what he is talking about, but the Center for Heritage Renewal is a sponsor of the Punk Archeology event, partially funded by the North Dakota Humanities Council, in Fargo on 2-3 February. I'm hoping our man Aaron Barth will chime in here with some translation services. Keep it clean, lads.

The center has opened a Pro account with Flickr. The center used to post sets of photos at Webshots, but Webshots came under new and not-so-cordial management, and so the center has moved over to Flickr. This requires a lot of reorganizing and reposting, but the overall result is a great improvement. The photos so far relocated into Flickr are arranged into sets (of photos), and the sets are grouped into collections (of sets). It's a pretty large presence already, with much more to come. The Digital History class, under the direction of Dr. Angela Smith, will debut the website for its Fargo History Project Friday the 7th at the Plains Art Museum. The Center for Heritage Renewal has joined with College of Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences and the Department of History, Philosophy, & Religious Studies to sponsor the opening reception.
